Last weekend.

Like a bee!

This week has been another busy one.

Monday I had Ag Econ then my farm class. Was done about 5 and hung out with the girls. After that I did homework until it was time to take a shower and go to bed.

Tuesday I had my CDE class then worked till 4. I came home and changed then took my Little Sister to dinner at Denny's. She's the cutest. I came home and once again did homework until it was time for bed.

Wednesday I had Ag Econ then farm class again. Conley came over and we spent forever looking for Halloween costumes...no luck! We grabbed dinner then watched One Tree Hill.

Thursday I had CDE class then worked till 5. Once again went looking for a halloween costume with no luck. Had a ton of homework to finish then went to bed.

Today I have Ag Econ then Diversity then I get to come home! Should be in Gilbert around 7:30 or so.

A group of us got bored tonight and decided to go out and take some pictures. Something was up with the flash, but it ended up looking pretty cool. Here are the pictures of me:

What a weekend.

Well, I just experienced one of the busiest weekend of my life. I don't have any pictures because my camera's batteries died, but I'll be stealing them from people over the next few days.

My weekend started Thursday with the arrival of Ira Fulton at U of A. Ira Fulton is the owner of Fulton homes and one of the richest people in Phoenix. Ira gave a million dollars to help with the construction of the new building on campus, McClelland Park building. I was given the privledge of chauffering him around for the day. I had a great time with him and found him very knowledgeable and kind. He told me the reason he gives away so much money (about 60%) is because he's already lived his dream and wants others to be able to live theirs.

Friday I woke up at 4AM and headed to the golfcourse to work the AgCat Open. The AgCat Open is a golf tournament put on by the college of Agriculture to raise money for scholarships. When I first got there I worked registration and the rest of the time I worked the "Hole In One" hole where the prize was a Buick Lacrosse, unfortunately nobody one. I saw a lot of people I knew and had a blast with Trav's uncle Wilbur who has done a lot for the college. After the golfers had finished we all ate lunch and had an award ceremony. At this point Mike (a kid I work with) and I got to go around collecting all the signs off the golf course. I think we had a little too much fun driving the carts and eventually ended up getting lost. We all headed back to the school and started getting ready for the burrito breakfast. We finished with that and then went to a board meetin. It made for a thirteen hour work day, but it was fun and I need the money.

Saturday I woke up at 5AM and headed to school for the Burrito Breakfast which is an auction that also raises money for scholarships. I hooked up my computer and started the slideshow then went around and socialized with everyone. Once the silent auction was over I went and called out bidders for the live auction. It was really fun, I'm considering going to auction school over the summer. It's relatively cheap and you make good money once you start doing auctions (plus, I think I talk fast enough). After the auction was over I went and met Mike (from tractor team) at the Student Showcase and watched him do his presentation on alternative fuels. He finished up and then we went and met the rest of the guys from the tractor team for tailgating (it was homecoming). We had an absolute blast. The Aggie boys had a float and when they went by the all jumped off and grabbed me and pulled me onto the float so I got to ride on that for a bit. I eventually jumped off and went back. We played this game called ladder ball that was pretty fun, but then someone accidentally hit Wes with the ball "where it counts" and the game ended. We headed back to Wes's to watch the game...we lost. It made for a great day.

Today is laundry and homework day. I also need to get some groceries so I don't starve!

Stay Classy Tucson

It is freezing in our appartment...constantly. Therefore, fashion has gone out the window and comfort and warmth have taken the lead.

Found this funny.

How to drive in Phoenix
1. You must first learn to pronounce the city name. It is 'FEE-NICKS'.

2. The morning rush hour is from 5:00am to noon. The evening rush hour is from noon to 7:00pm . Friday's rush hour starts on Thursday morning.

3. The minimum acceptable speed on most freeways is 85 mph. On Loop 101, your speed is expected to match the highway number. Anything less is considered 'wussy'.

4. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Phoenix has its own version of traffic rules. For example, cars/trucks with the loudest muffler go first at a four-way stop; the trucks with the biggest tires go second. However, East Valley , SUV-driving, cell phone-talking moms ALWAYS have the right of way.

5. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out, and possibly shot.

6. Never honk at anyone...ever! Seriously! It's another offense that can get you shot.

7. Road construction is permanent and continuous in Phoenix . Detour barrels are moved around for your entertainment pleasure during the middle of the night to make the next day's driving a bit more exciting.

8. Watch carefully for road hazards such as drunks, skunks, dogs, barrels, cones, cows, horses, cats, mattresses, shredded tires, squirrels, rabbits, crows, vultures, javelinas, roadrunners, and the coyotes feeding on any of these items.

9. Maricopa Freeway, Papago Freeway and the 'I-10' are the same road. SR-202 is the same road as The Red Mountain FWY. Dunlap and Olive are the same street, too. Jefferson becomes Washington , but they are not the same street. I-17 is also called The Black Canyon Freeway, as well as, The Veterans Memorial Highway, and if all that isn't enough to remember, SR-51 has recently been renamed Piestewa Freeway because Squaw Peak Parkway was too easy pronounce. SR-101 is also the Pima FWY, except west of I-17, which is also The Black Canyon FWY, and The Veterans Memorial HWY, west of I-17, it is known as the Agua Fria FWY. Lastly, Thunderbird Rd. becomes Cactus Rd. , but Cactus Rd. does not become Thunderbird Rd. because it dead-ends at a mountain.

10. If someone actually has their turn signal on, wave them to the shoulder immediately to let them know it has been 'accidentally activated.
'

11. If you are in the left lane and only driving 70 in a 55-65 mph zone, you are considered a road hazard and will be 'flipped off' accordingly. If you return the flip, you'll be shot..

12. For summer driving, it is advisable to wear potholders on your hands

On Friday when I got home Ashley, Bradley, and I went out to dinner at BJ's. After that I hung out with the people from my old job at the Cafe.

On Saturday I woke up and Julia and I went to the horse sale. It was pretty fun. I went to Ross and got some dress clothes then went to dinner with Brad, Ashley, Loren, Ryan, and Andrew. After that I chilled at Panza's for a bit.

Today I woke up and got my things together then headed to the racetrack to watch Andrew race. Jim and Ryan were also there so we pit crewed. Andrew had a wipe out on his first run but did well on the others.

Back in Tucson now. Going to take a nap then head to chuch.

Jacobs-Cline Society- Bowling Night

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Just another reason I hate my apartment:

My door to the bathroom is officially stuck shut. Last night I really had to pee but couldn't get into the bathroom through my room and Alicia was already asleep with her door locked. Ugh...if they don't come fix it when I'm home tonight...I'm finding me an ax.

Old Man Winter

Only in Arizona would it be summer until mid-October, then, as if over night, turn to winter.

I don't know about elsewhere, but it's stinkin' cold in Tucson...ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNING!

Museums...a classic disappointment.

Graham, Sara, and Maecy came down yesterday. Originally the plan was going to the zoo but we decided to go to the Sonoran Desert Museum instead. We were all disappointed by the museum but I loved seeing them.

At half spunk levels.

Well, I started to feel alittle bit better yesterday, but I've still been taking it easy.

Farm class got out about an hour early yesterday so I went and hung out with Charlie and Trav for a bit, they still want me to race the mini dragster. I think it'd be pretty fun...what do you think, could I pull off being a racer chick? Haha

I came home and rested for a bit then Bethany, Justin, Ashley, Alicia, Jeff and I had some chicken fried steak for dinner... I am sure glad my roommate can cook. They worked on their business plans, I finished mine up then finished the rest of my homework for the week...AMAZING.

Today should be pretty good. I have one class then work. By the time I get home my Luv Sack should have arrived...SPLENDID! I'm going to set that up then Trav has a date planned for us so I'm excited to see what's instore. Then I'll probably come home and pass out!

Where's all my spunk gone?

I've been pretty sick the last few weeks, not a whole lot of fun. My days have consisted of going to school, taking a nap, doing homework, going to bed. I'm ready to get better and be back to my spunky self.

Gilbert people--> I'm going to try to make it to town the 17th. Make plans to see me =)

Writer's block.

I was having a case of writer's block so I went to this website that gives you cool post ideas for your blog. It suggested posting some of your favorite pictures and explaining why it's one of your favorites; either because you like how it looks or reminds you of a good time, what have you. Well, I may have gotten a bit carried away but here are some of my favorites (sorry everything got spaced out so oddly):

I love this picture because it was one of my favorite nights in high school. Julia was down from Flagstaff and Loren and Ashley were both actually around. We just all hung out at th mall and somehow fit all of us in a photobooth.

To me this picture looks like it belongs in a frame and I love it.

I love this picture because I will always remember my senior prom. I got to go with my best friend as my date, a huge group of people I loved, and I got to wear the most gorgeous dress in the world.

I love this picture because I have loved being a part of this amazing little girl's life.

I love this picture cause yah never forget your high school sweet heart (or so they say) and this was one of my favorite days we spent together.

I love this picture because first off it was a super fun day...the day of the Gourd Festival and second off because it was the day Trav's mom whispered in my ear, "We like you!"

I love this picture because Derek and I had been at Neiko's house for about a week straight, only going home to sleep.

I love this picture because this is one of the first days I got to hang out with Maecyn when her own little personality was starting to shine through.

I love this picture because it was taken right before Spikey died and I think it shows was a sweetie he was.

I love this picture because I remember exactly what Wendy (Derek's mom) said when she took this picture: "Now you'll never have to forget the good ol' days."

I just love the way this picture looks.

I love this picture because my friend Brittany Granger took it and she's an amazing photographer.

This is my favorite picture of my best friend Julia and I. I have no idea why, I just love it.

I love this picture because I think it captures Bradley and I perfectly, we still act the same today.

I love this picture because it seems like something out of a movie... and I got to live it. :)

I love this picture because I think it really captures my personality.

I love this picture because the three of us were basically inseperable my last two years of high school and this picture captures that perfectly.

I love this picture because Conley has been such an amazing friend this last few years. This picture also shows off his nasty scar (look at his hand) from wen I made him play football and he was supposed to be playing poker....OOOPS!

I love this picture because I loved Rodeo...and how could you not love this picture?

I love this picture because it reminds me of what a crazy awesome family I have.

This is mainly for teachers but still interesting!

And this is why I love kids...

Kids, aged 5 to 10, were asked questions about what they thought of love and marriage. Here's what they said.

"No one is sure why it happens, but I heard it has something to do with how you smell. That's why perfume and deodorant are so popular." -- Mae, age 9

"Once I'm done with kindergarten, I'm going to find me a wife." -- Tom, age 5

"On the first date, they just tell each other lies, and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date." -- Mike, 10

"[Being] single is better . . . for the simple reason that I wouldn't want to change no diapers. Of course, if I did get married, I'd figure something out. I'd just phone my mother and have her come over for some coffee and diaper-changing." -- Kirsten, age 10

"You should never kiss a girl unless you have enough bucks to buy her a big ring and her own VCR, 'cause she'll want to have videos of the wedding." -- Jim, age 10

"Never kiss in front of other people. It's a big embarrassing thing if anybody sees you. But if nobody sees you, I might be willing to try it with a handsome boy, but just for a few hours." -- Kally, age 9

"It isn't always how you look. Look at me. I'm handsome like anything, and I haven't got anybody to marry me yet." -- Brian, age 7

"Shake your hips and hope for the best." -- Camille, age 9

"Tell your wife that she looks pretty even if she looks like a truck!" -- Ricky, age 7

Titles of Love Ballads You Can Sing To Your Loved One:

"'I Love Hamburgers, I Like You!'" -- Eddie, age 6
"'You Are My Darling Even Though You Also Know My Sister.'" -- Larry, age 8
"'I Am In Love With You Most of the Time, But Don't Bother Me When I'm With My Friends.'" -- Bob, age 9
"'How Do I Love Thee When You're Always Picking Your Nose?'" -- Arnold, age 10
"'Honey, I Got Your Curly Hair and Your Nintendo On My Mind.'" -- Sharon, age 9
"'Hey, Baby, I Don't Like Girls, But I'm Willing To Forget You Are One!'" -- Will, age 7

I have...something?

Well as most of you know I've been suffering with throat issues. I keep losing my voice and this morning I woke up and my throat was swollen. I decided to try campus health one more time (third time recently). When I was checking in the nurse said the first time I came in for this was September 2, so this has been going on for a month! They did a rapid strep test and a throat culture and both came back negative. The doctor gave me a Z-Pack but said it might not work because he doesn't think what I have is bacterial. I have to go in tomorrow to get blood work done. UGH!

PS- I updated the slideshow on the bottom of my page again (not much to do when I'm stuck at home). There are new and old pictures and I edited the colors on lots of them.
